Take up the challenge and style your hair, avoiding the breakage and dullness. It’s quite a challenge yet with the right accessories and hair oils (working as detanglers and styling primers) – it’s no longer a problem.

Thanks to the right hair care products, you can minimize the heat styling damage. You should know that wrong and regular styling leads to hair breakage, thinning, splitting and loss of density. Surprisingly, a good hair oil and introducing a few simple rules will be enough to avoid the problem. Discover four must-know tips!

1. Style only healthy hair!

Healthier hair is manageable and much less exposed to damage. It’s harder to make it brittle or dry yet it’s possible. Healthy hair has a strong hydro-lipid barrier and cuticle scales which cling to the stem. That’s why such strands don’t lose moisture, being resistant to the harmfulness of heat styling.

2. Don’t style freshly-washed hair!

The easiest way involves styling hair on the day after washing. Why? Hair isn’t as smooth as after rinsing a conditioner out so it’s easier to deal with. There’s one more reason. Right after washing, hair’s deprived of the natural protective barrier whereas the skin is prone to irritation. After a few hours, the lipid coat is restored.

3. Use natural hair oils!

You should be aware that styling primers largely affect your hair condition. Apart from getting easier styling, a defined curl and hold, you must deal with some downsides e.g. dryness, irritated sensitive scalp, cosmetic dandruff. Exchanging a hair gel or spray for a natural hair oil is a great idea. A light oil – e.g. argan oil, almond oil, sunflower oil – provides the hair with heat protection, enhances the natural curl, sheen and color, increasing elasticity, suppleness and volume at the same time.

4. Cut down on heat styling!

Curling wands, straighteners and blow-dryers make hair easier to work with but the tools dehydrate, weaken and irritate, too. Overusing heat styling makes for hair loss, splitting and dullness. Switch to some heatless styling methods e.g. plopping.
