Many women consider facial creams to be one of the most important cosmetics. We apply it twice a day: in the morning and in the evening. Facial creams can have different properties and are designed for various skin types and different skin ages. Over the years, the appearance and demand of our skin for the care ingredients changes. What properties does the 50+, 60+ and 70+ face cream have? Face cream vs. age.

50+ face cream – properties

After 50 years of age, the skin has lost a lot of collagen, which is why it is limp, rough and dry. Face cream 50+ should contain a significant amount of collagen, which will increase elasticity and moisturize the skin, There should also be phytoestrogens and oils that improve its density. Retinol content is equally important – it supports the production of new cells, and coenzyme Q10, which improves skin tone, moisturizes and regenerates and reduces wrinkles. Moreover, 50+ face cream should contain hyaluronic acid, which ensures proper hydration of the skin, smoothes the skin and protects it from drying, and caffeine which is responsible for improving blood circulation.

60+ Face cream – properties

After the age of 60, the skin is dry and thin, and the wrinkles are deep and visible. It is easily irritated because its regenerative functions have significantly slowed down. Women of this age often struggle with discolouration. 60+ Face cream should contain high concentrations of coenzyme Q10, retinol, collagen and vitamins. Some have been enriched with crimson algae that tightens the face, or oils and butter that stimulate lipid production.

70+ face cream – properties

After the age of 70, the skin becomes flabby and dehydrated, the fatty tissue loses its volume, and the oval of the face becomes irregular. 70+ face cream should contain large amounts of antioxidants such as vitamin C, which not only stimulates the production of collagen, but also delays skin photoaging and has anti-inflammatory and immunostimulating properties. What’s more, 70+ face cream should be enriched with retinol and coenzyme Q10. Some contain stem cells, for example from Swiss apple, grape seed, elderberry, melon, rose, or rice shoots – they are supposed to inhibit the signs of time passage.
