Is your nose also stubby, large, or too long? Do not worry any more, you are not alone with this problem. There are plenty of girls who do not like the look of their noses as well. Fortunately, there are several ways on how to camouflage such imperfections. Learn the techniques of shaping nose possible due to skillful application of colour cosmetic.

Shaping, also known as contouring, is for camouflaging imperfections of whole face or only some parts of it, and bringing out the parts that are perceived as assets. It is nothing more than just optical illusion created with colours, light, and shadow. In order to make face shaping possible, collect foundations of bright and darker shades, bronzers, powders, and blushers. All the cosmetics have to be blended using sponge, fingertips, and a few types of brushes (a big one, a round one as well as a small, and a flat-cut brush). The general rule of face contouring states that the face parts that we would like to hide should be darkened (for example, slimming cheeks or shortening a nose) and highlighting the parts that we would like to bring out (making them wider or emphasized). What is more, for face shaping,  it is suggested using such colour cosmetics that differ a lot in terms of tones. For that reason, it is extremely crucial to blend all the products precisely to create smooth gradients between colours. Last but not least, pick the shades that will dovetail with your skin tone and type of beauty you have.

How to contour a nose?

There are plenty of different shapes and types of noses, therefore, it would take ages to describe all of them. Therefore, let us take a closer look on just some of the most popular shapes of noses and the techniques facilitating their make-over.

Round nose – nasal septum is narrow as the nose becomes wider in its lower part. So, our task is to make the upper part a little bit wider and to slim down the bottom of the nose. In order to obtain the looked-for effect, reach for a light shaded colour cosmetic and apply it on the nasal septum and darken the nostrils.

Short and wide nose has to be treated with a bronzer or a dark shaded foundation. Put the cosmetics on its entire length, starting from corners of the eyes, and ending on the nostrils. The bridge of the nose and the area between eyes should be highlighted a little bit.

Triangle-shaped nose is narrow at its base and wider on its upper part. In this case, nostrils and lower part of the nose should be slimmed down using colour cosmetics of dark colour schemes. The sides of the nose and its bridge have to be covered with highlighters.

Narrow and long nose. The lower part of the nose has to be darkened due to a foundation, a powder or a bronzer of a dark colour. Sides of the nose can be covered with a bright-shaded colour cosmetic, yet only slightly.
